Generation 1, Part II: And Baby Makes Three

Star grew up without incident. I was a little worried about how her toddler years would go. I kept the room locked up and did my best to get Chastity into platinum. Unfortunately, to do so, I had to teach Star to walk cold turkey. Ugh. When she finally finished, the poor thing was exhausted so I let the rest of the skills wait until the next day. Holly spent a lot of time complaining about not being able to get into the nursery. That’s right, woman, no toddler harassment for you!
The rest of Star’s toddlerhood was uneventful. It was really surprising how well it went. There was only one incident, where Holly pulled a David Copperfield and managed to grab Star through the door. She had an obsession with bathing her. I’m kinda glad I locked the door… poor Star’s skin would’ve been scrubbed off!

Eventually Star grew into a somewhat self-sufficient child. She was pretty cute to boot. She takes after Holly, but her coloring is all Chastity. Good. I’m hoping the purple skin and black eyes will stick around for a bit.
Of course, with childhood comes the ever annoying homework. Ugh. That sucked. Poor Chastity was trying to max her skills before her time with me was up, while cooking, and trying to reach the top of the Science field. It’s a shame that sims won’t take any intiative and do it themselves. I normally just let it pile up and tackled it on the weekends… by the time she was ready to grow up again, she had an A+… phew!

Star didn’t like her own bed much. Then again, Holly did and would often go and sleep there just before Star could beat her to it. So she spent a lot of time sleeping with her mummy Chastity. I thought it was really cute. I rarely let sims do their own thing and I’ve only ever made a child sleep with an adult or elder once.
I’m also in love with those cute dressing gowns Family Fun Stuff added! Why couldn’t the other PJs be like that? They’re really cute, but they have those nasty hairy feet and it’s just weird. I guess I don’t like to dress my sims up like half bears, half humans… buh.
Through this challenge, I have also realized my love for alarm clocks. I have never used one before, aside for decorative purposes. Who needs them when you can wake your sim up? But wow, they really come in handy for this challenge! No sleeping in for these sims! Same with those little wall speakers. Love them.

As I mentioned before, Holly had this odd fixation with Star’s bed… which doesn’t make any sense, really. This continued even after I updated Holly and Chastity’s bed into the mission one (and made sure that Chastity enticed her wife over and made her sleep in it, causing her to recognize it as an item that belongs to her). Star never went near the mission bed, which was good… except for when Holly took over Star’s bed. In retrospect, I should’ve deleted Star’s bed and just got her a new one, hopefully wiping Holly of any misunderstanding that the bed was hers. Ah well.
It was kind of amusing. Except when poor Star would pass out while her mother continued daydreaming, blissfully unaware–or not caring–about her child’s unconcious state. Holly Lex; Parent of the Year!

Yuck, sick Sims! I only had Sims get sick once in my ISBI challenge, the torch holder and her father. I just had the torch holder relax on the bed and invite her father to join, and kept that up until she was better, her father died of old age before he was cured though.
