Generation 8, Part IV: Here kitty, kitty, kitty…

Despite the obvious differences in having a pet in an ISBI house, things weren’t too chaotic. In fact, after the initial day or two of adjusting, they flowed rather nicely. Of course, there were some bizarre moments… like Unix teaching Rex to ‘use the toliet’. Andre seems to take it in stride, though. That… or he doesn’t even notice that there’s a cat currently using the lavatory behind him.
Don’t let the youthful looks fool you, I think Andre’s gone senile on us. Who doesn’t notice a cat using a toliet? That’s certainly something that would grab my attention!

Another chapter closes on yet another TH. Unix’s reign is over. I think she knew it was coming, because she went and rested on the bed just before I was set to get the pop-up telling me to ‘move it or lose it’ in regards to Noble’s college education. I found it adorable that her furry companion came and rested with her. By this time, they were best friends… or in Rex’s mind, Unix was ‘his’.
Don’t worry, Unix. When I return, your plumb bob will be all shiny and platinum. Until then, I hope you’re comfortable, ‘cause it’s gonna be awhile…

I figured I’d give a University shot of all three of our contesta–err current generation. As you can see, there were some pretty good genes flowing through the family this time around. Each one is unique in their own way. Noble looks like he belongs on a ‘I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter’ commercial(and grew up into that Fabio outfit by himself, so I had to keep it), Hunter looks like he just stepped out of a WB casting call, and Monica looks far too sweet and innocent to pursue things of the ‘adult’ film nature.
And now, I have to put these three buggers through University. Ugh. Thank goodness for the college clock…

Hey, Mao! Nice update. Ugh. I hate roach infestations. All the sims usually freak out over those darn bugs and end up getting sick. At least they didn’t include the mice from Unleashed in Pets! And Rex is adorable. Cats can be taught to use the toilet?! I so didn’t know that - cute! And Noble DOES look like he should be in one of those butter commercials (I think I’d rather watch Noble than Fabio anyhow!). But, great update!
Can’t wait for the next one.

Well I must say, this was an enlightening story. This was a wonderful story..cute cat. I read your other blog..the vo gerbits one and I just decided to take a peek at this one. Its very interesting. I don’t think I could do the ISBI challange, but you seem to be doing well. Did pets put a lot of strain on your computer’s memory card and RAM? And by that I mean moreso than the other expansion packs. What are your specs btw? I only ask because you say you experienced lag with the collar upgrade haha. I guess I’ll be reading backwards so I can know what’s going on.

Hey Eva! Thanks.
The unlockable stuff career lag is pretty much happening for everyone, from what I’ve seen. It’s not THAT bad, but it’s certainly noticeable. Other than that, I have noticed no changes with speed/etc except in loading times, which it did add to a little. I have a dual 3.7 processor with 3 gigs of RAM, x1900 Radeon 512mb.

Mao, I am drooling over your computer specs…I really need to buy some more RAM. Anyway, awesome update! Beautiful pictures, as always. And I love REX! He fits in so perfectly with the Lexes — he even matches their color scheme. Wow, I haven’t played Pets much yet — I had no idea about training cats to use the toilet, and what are those stars he was batting at? Neato. And what’s the university clock? Is that the hack that lets you jump to the final exam whenever you want? I wonder if we can use that for Legacy challenges…Uni just kills me, it really does.

Hey, Jen! Thanks! The stars are from the catnip mouse, which sends your favorite feline into a frenzy after playing with it. Rex was tripping in that picture, big time. Very funny! The college clock is the one with the Final Exam option. Very helpful. I’m not sure about the Legacy Challenge… but I can’t see how it would infringe on the rules any.

Great update Mao! I know I’m late in reading it, but things have been pretty busy for me! Anyhoo, the new University kids look amazing! All of them grew up very well, and I am still in love with Noble! Hehe, and about the adult film career…oh my! =D
